OUR FAMILY-OWNED FARM

Our dream was always to own a farm filled with animals to love. We have the joy of raising and breeding several unique chicken breeds and show quality Nigerian Dwarf Goats for dairy, show, and farm pets.

The name of our farm is special to our family. The name Floofy Farms was inspired by our first family pet, a Great Pyrenees dog we fostered and adopted in 2019 named Forrest. This special dog, with his beautiful, white fluffy coat changed our lives forever for the better. We fondly call him "Floofy" as one of his many nicknames. Floofy is a spin on the word fluffy, as he is one of the fluffiest dog breeds one could own!

WHY CHOOSE TO BUY FROM US

There are many places you can purchase chicks from, but not every place is equal in the quality, care, and reason for being apart of the chicken world! No, our chicks are not as cheap as the large hatcheries and feed stores that they supply chicks to. But there is a significant difference in the quality, care, and reason between us and the large hatcheries. The hatcheries main goal is to breed as many chicks as possible to make the most profit, with no thought into the quality of the breed or care the birds are receiving.

REASON: We LOVE chickens! Seriously, we are quite obsessed. Our chickens are apart of our family. We selected the breeds we raise because we fell in love with their floofy and unique features, friendly disposition, collecting every egg color possible each day, and laughing at their silly antics.

QUALITY: We love our breeds so much that we have made it our goal is to protect, perserve, and improve our breed lines. The quality and improvement of our lines the forefront of what we do. We do this by carefully pairing and selecting birds every year that best represent each breeds' standard. It is a time consuming and expensive process. It is immensely rewarding to see the improvements in the quality and health of our birds each year. We are happy to share our lines with you for your own personal backyard flocks, breeding programs, and pets. Selling chicks allows us to continue to be able to work on the quality in our lines. We are proud to be a NPIP certified hatchery. NPIP certification ensures our flocks are tested and cleared each year for Salmonella pullorum-typhoid (P-T) Avian Influenza (AI). It also certifies we follow a biosecurity plan to help keep our flocks healthy and protected. We also offer breeds that are autosexing/sex-linked if you want to get a guaranteed female, no accidental roosters from your local feed store!

CARE: We enjoy spoiling our chickens with the best life has to offer at our farm! That means ensuring all of our birds have a wonderful living space that is protected from all weather and predators, high quality nutrition and health. We love sharing pictures and videos of our breeding flocks and setup! We have nothing to hide here. We are very proud of the chicken coops and runs that we have built. No amount of time, effort, or money was spared to ensure that our birds are happy, healthy, and safe. We believe in providing our chickens with the best nutrition. We feed all of our birds Kalmbach, an all natural, balanced diet for optimal health with access to oyster shells 24/7. We add feed supplements such as Brewer's Yeast and a variety of herbs (thyme, nettle, chamomille, astralagus root). We support their immune systems with oregeno oil and apple cider vinegar. And of course, our chickens also receive scratch grain, black oil sunflower seeds, and treats (apples, pumpkins, carrots etc.). We go above and beyond for our birds to ensure the best and healthiest life for each. We monitor our birds health daily and routinely inspect them for any signs of injuries or illness. We have strict biosecurity protocols in place to limit any exposure to outside diseases/illnesses. We offer vaccinating for Mareks for all of chick orders.
