Chocolate Mottled Silkies
Nothing says adorable better than a silkie with their irresistible fluffy feathers that give a fur-like texture and appearance.
Breed History
Chocolate mottled silkies are a special variety of silkie with their distinctive white color "peppered" in on their base chocolate color. The silkies are one of the most popular breeds for kids and pets due to their docile nature, smaller size, and floofy appearance. They can be raised with standard largefowl breeds but due to their smaller size thrive with birds of small to medium stature. This breed lays a small-medium cream colored egg. The hens love to be mothers and have a high tendency to go broody. They do not lay as prolifically as other breeds. They do need lower roost bars and longer, flat ramps as they do not excel at jumping or flying. People love to add silkies to their flock for their irresistible cuteness and personality.
