Floofy Farms LLC Terms & Conditions

By purchasing chicks or hatching eggs from Floofy Farms LLC, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions below. You will be required to agree to these terms and conditions at the time of completing your purchase.

48-HR LIVE CHICK GUARANTEE: All day-old chicks are sold healthy with no signs of ailments or illnesses. We guarantee the health of day-old chicks for 48 hours once you receive them, provided the customer has provided appropriate heat, water, and food for the chicks to thrive. Chicks must have access to a brooder space where the temperature is monitored to ensure the chicks are warm enough at a comfortable temperature of 95°F. Chicks should be provided fresh water that is lukewarm/room temperature and a starter/grow chick crumble. If these conditions were provided and you still experience a loss, please contact us within the 48-hour window of delivery/pick-up, provide proof of adequate brooder conditions, and a photo of any dead birds. We will offer a refund equal to the value of the loss.

VACCINATIONS: Starting in 2024, we will be vaccinating all chicks for Marek's disease. All of our chick prices reflect the additional cost of vaccinating our chicks with this vaccine. If you do not want your chicks vaccinated, you can notify us of this preference at the time of checkout. The price will be the same whether you choose to not have your chicks vaccinated or not.

TIMING OF ORDERS: We Pick-up dates are chosen at the time of purchase for all chick orders. For hatching eggs, we usually can ship or arrange pick-up of egg orders out within 1-2 weeks of the time you placed your order. During peak chick season, it can take up to 4 weeks.

​

STRAIGHT RUN: Some of our breeds are sold straight run, this means these chicks are unsexed. You can get any combination number of male and female chicks. We cannot guarantee the sex of any of these chicks. Sometimes you will get a significant disparity of numbers between male to female ratio. If you cannot have roosters in your town or do not want roosters, please check out our auto-sexing and sex-linked breeds. We cannot take back any chicks once they leave the farm.

AUTO-SEX/SEX-LINKED: We offer a few rare auto-sexing and unique sex-linked options. This means we can identify the difference between male and female chicks when they hatch at day 1 due to the difference in color or pattern. These are an excellent choice for customers who want guaranteed future hens and no surprise roosters waking you or your neighbors up in the wee hours of the morning.

HATCHING EGGS: Hatch rate is NOT GUARANTEED once the eggs leave our care due to uncontrollable factors such as shipping and incubation methods. You can have a hatch rate from 0-100%. We recommend purchasing day-old chicks if you want a guaranteed number of chicks.

​

ORDER CANCELLATIONS: If we do not provide you the chicks or hatching eggs within the advertised time window, you may cancel your order by notifying us by email and receive a full refund. No full refunds are offered in any other case. As soon as an order is placed, these orders require labor and time. For local pick-up orders, we will only be able to offer a 50% refund if you decide to cancel at any point after you place your order. For shipped orders, we will only be able to offer a 50% refund if you decide to cancel any time between when you place the order and 1 week before your shipment date. There are no exceptions to this policy.

NPIP: Our NPIP number is MA #1381. All customers outside Massachusetts will receive a copy of the NPIP VS 9-3 form in your email. Shipped orders will also receive a printed copy with your order.

​

CUSTOMERS OUTSIDE MASSACHUSETTS: We ship only to states that we meet the import  requirements. Most states require chicks/fertile eggs to originate from a NPIP certified AI and P-T Clean flock and provide a copy of the NPIP VS 9-3 form. If additional requirements are needed to import, we refrain from shipping into those states.

​

NO VISITORS: Unfortunately, we cannot have visitors at our farm in order to maintain our flock’s health and biosecurity. This is an integral part of our NPIP biosecurity protocol to limit visitors and prevent the accidental spread of poultry diseases/illnesses. We love sharing pictures and videos of our setup and birds on our social media pages. We recommend checking out our Facebook or Instagram if you’d like to see our breeding flocks and setup. We take a lot of pride in providing our birds a healthy and happy life here on our farm.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT IN BREED QUALITY: Every year we work on the quality of our breeds by carefully pairing hens to roosters to improve our lines toward each breed standard. It takes 10-12 months for a bird to be old enough to begin analyzing and selecting for the next generation. We take pride in the quality of our breeds and believe the health and quality speaks for itself. We are happy to have customers who are looking to acquire our birds for their own breeding program. However, as breeders know, not every single chick or bird we hatch will be a show quality bird. It is very difficult to breed a bird that 100% represents the breed standard, which is what makes working toward it so rewarding. Sometimes birds will have disqualifications for the standard, such as: recessive colors, color leakage, lack of attributes like muffs, and more. These are a measure to the breed's standard and it does not impact the bird's ability to lay or live a long healthy life with you.

LOCAL PICK-UP ORDERS

REQUIRED PICKUP TIMING: Chicks/hatching eggs must be picked up within 10 days of receiving the email that your order is ready for pick-up. We will attempt to contact you by phone if we do not receive a response to the email within 3 days. Floofy Farms LLC does not hold chicks beyond the 10-day period. If you cannot pick up your chicks within the 10-day period, you forfeit your order and your payment. A refund will not be issued.

​

FOR CONNECTICUT RESIDENTS: Customers who are Connecticut residents are solely responsible for contacting the Connecticut Department of Agriculture to obtain an import permit, as per required by Connecticut law. Floofy Farms LLC will provide the required NPIP VS 9-3 form to you via email when your order is ready for pick-up. Obtaining the permit is simple and the instructions to do so are outlined on the Connecticut Department of Agriculture website. The instructions can be found here.

LOCAL PICKUP AT THE FARM: You will receive the farm address for pick-up within the email alerting you that your order is ready for pick-up. It is your responsibility to reach out to us to schedule a day and time to come to the farm and receive your chick(s)/hatching eggs. You can reach us by Facebook, phone, or email. Once a day and time has been scheduled, you will park in front of the farm gates and alert us you have arrived. You will remain at the gates. No one is allowed beyond the gates due to our strict biosecurity protocol to maintain our flock’s health and NPIP certification.

SHIPPING ORDERS

PICKUP OF YOUR CHICKS: Chicks must be picked up from your local post office as soon as they arrive. If you do not pick up your chicks the day of arrival, the 48-hr live chick guarantee is void and null.

​

SHIPPING HATCHING EGGS: We can ship to a select number of states that our farm meets the import requirements. Eggs are shipped in quantities of 6 or 12 packaged securely in egg foam holders to ensure all eggs ship to you undamaged. Eggs are shipped at a flat rate of $25.00 per box through the USPS Priority 2-3 day delivery mail. The eggs you receive will be less than a week old. We usually can ship egg orders out within 1-2 weeks of the time you placed your order but during peak chick season, it can take up to 4 weeks.

SHIPPING DATES: We will notify you by email with a planned shipment date for your order 1-3 weeks in advance of the shipment date. Chicks are shipped on Monday or Tuesday. Chicks are shipped via USPS Priority Express. Shipping is a flat rate of $50. We always ship our chicks in a USPS approved shipping box with bedding and GroGel for the journey. However, we cannot control the shipping speeds or guarantee any estimated date/time on your tracking number. We will not refund shipping charges for any orders.
